Our brand new righht wing, Scott Glennie
I gotta say, I love that Nieuwendyk drafted for need rather than skill. We desperately needed a natural right wing, and we now have that in Glennie. Besides, he seems like a really good kid. 🙂 And if we couldn’t have Brayden Schenn, we got his good friend and teammate.
Sadly, the guy I wanted to draft, like, badly, Jordan Schroeder, the midget went to the Canucks. Oh well…
As expected, John Tavares went to the Islanders, Hedman the Bolts, and so on…
-Jonas Gustavsson won’t make his decision today, but he’ll have his mind made up most likely by Sunday or Monday. And hopefully he chooses the Stars. I’ve got my fingers crossed. 🙂
-It’s starting to sound inevitable that we’ll draft either Magnus Pajaarvi-Svensson or Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Like I’ve said before, I’m on the Jordan Schroeder bandwagon, and he’s still an option. As are Dmitri Kulikov, Ryan Ellis, and Jared Cowen. One or both MPS and OEL will most likely be available by number eight, and if the Stars draft for skill and to keep building that Swedish-ness we’ve adopted, one of them is ours. The question is, which one?
-The Matt Niskanen-and-8th Overall Draft Pick-for-Tomas Kaberle rumor has been shot down by Dallas personnel. I’m very glad to hear this, because I love Nisky too much to see him go. And I already love our number eight pick even though I don’t know who it is. I get waaaaay too attached to these players, I know. 🙂
Niskers, I'd be sad to see you go. So, just, don't.
I gotta say, I’m pretty excited. I’ve been waiting for this date awhile. So, here are the big questions:
Tavares or Hedman first overall?
What will come of Vinny Lecavalier?
What about Dany Heatly?
How about the goalie we’re trying to woo, Jonas Gustavsson?
And most importantly, who do the Stars take with the eighth pick?

The first five, most likely.
I’m not gonna lie, but I’m seriously hoping for a miracle so that Brayden Schenn could become a Star. I really like that kid. But as we all know, it’ll be John Tavares to the Islanders, Victor Hedman to the Lightning, Matt Duchene to the Avs, and then…I’m not exactly sure. But it has to go that way; it’s perfect for all three teams.
The Islanders need a franchise guy, and they could get that in Tavares. He’s easily the most skilled player in the draft, and the Islanders are lucky to have the chance to draft him.
Coming up: Why Hedman and Duchene are perfect for the Bolts and Avs respectively, and pre-draft rumor involving one Vinny Lecavalier.
